Feel that it is time to buy a digital camera. Been reading a few forums i.e. cnet asia, dpreview.

Thought that canon would be a good choice for first-time owner. Surprisely, fuji is offering a good budget (normal use, but photos are as good as SLR). Would take that into consideration. A pity is that F31 has just been launched in S'pore and would take another 3 months for the price to drop.

Meanwhile, keeping my options open.

Ending the year with flu bug. Got it from Dar. He's been coughing for past 2 weeks. Ya.. I think I am strong, yet I am weak. Cant escape from the virus.

Spent the last Sat of 2006 sleeping. Woke up late, lazing around and flat viewing at 1530hrs. 15 mins from my home. Image if I stay there, I will spend 5-10 mins walk to main road. Good workout? Or will feel sweaty? Mmmm.. Flat area is windy, rather good condition. House owner is the agent, selling the house to save cost. Also Christian. Valuation is @ 278k. She's expecting view to offer and mentioned she will pray about the amount she wants. I just felt that it is a bit inconvenient to travel and have to do bit of reno on the cornice and kitchen + the pillar that cant be removed. Anyway, want to view another house @ Buangkok Cresent. Decided to open up our option. Our view is that we prefer newer house but not plcs like Jurong and Sengkang.

Had our CG appreciation dinner. Food is average. Super freezing, cold air-con. Received a windbreaker as appreciation gift. I love it. White one with pink wordings. ;P

Month of Dec is quite special this year. Not only that it's Christmas, friend's baby's birthday, Dar's BD, his friends' BDs, my colleague's wedding, another friend getting ROM..

Ytd morning was preparing to go to work when I had a sharp pain in my tummy. Never experience such pain. Rested for a short while and slept for half an other before going to work. Rest of the day, I felt ok.

In the evening, went to Suntec for dinner with friends. Bought a pink as well as blue white base G2000 shirt for Dar. Probably, he can wear it during the tea ceremony on our wedding day.

Back to work. Was in a good mood, probably PS is over (dont have to worry for weather), the Christmas season is still in the air and my boss is back from her holidays too.

Lining up would be dinners all the way till New Year. Appreciation dinner, CG dinner, Dar's D&D dinner and probably friend's BD.

3 more days to pay day. If I am broke, Dar is even poorer than me. But it's alright, it's the period of giving and sharing.

So, it is Christmas again..

I had a mini X'mas celebration with my CG on friday. It was fun. A lot of food, goodies too. We did carolling and lots of laughters till 10plus. Wondered whether the neighbourhood can tahan us. 3 women is a market. Well, there is more than 3. >15 of us. I think the whole block is going to collapse.. Super noisy but enjoyable night..

Eve, we went to Dar's friend for celebration. The usual gang had potluck, serving is getter smaller every year. We getting old liao.. Eat a little and everyone is full. Went back early as I have a bit of rush. Cant find the medication; realised it is in my office drawer. Thank God the outbreak was little and under control.

Went a house viewing just now. A bit of arguement. Just dont like to place but was being told like how nice how nice the place is.. Sign.. Half a year is over and still emptyhanded. Look forward for the house to come too.

Mmmm... Just saw the newspaper. Watson having post Christmas sales. Maybe will grab some accessories for the house.

Another BBQ celebration later. Tmr, back to work again..

Today, we have 'graduated' from our wedding photoshoot!

After much concern over the weather, we decided to go ahead while it looks cloudy in the morning. Make-up done, outfits up. When we reached the 1st destination @ Hougang church, it became stormy. Once the photographer took out his camera for first snap, it drizzled.

We have to wait till the rain stops. And much to everyone's frustration, when we wanted to step out of the building, it rained again.

First, it's the weather. Followed by an uncooporative bride who cant give a wide smile. Third, everyone is sticky, tired and hungry. We decided to grap a bite at the coffeshop before we continued. Thank God, my friend is staying nearby and we headed for her place for a short break.. Hee hee, finally get the engine going..

At Punggol, yes! - it rained as we started over. But it was cooling. My PG cant take it anymore.. Haha.. He told me it's unlucky to go there. Every time, he goes there; it rained

3rd destination - we skipped the jetty and took pics of my favourite lallang! Hope that it will turn out the way I want it to be.

Last, the beach. Maybe in our heart, we know that session is ending. So relieved and more natural smiles..

My PG's tummy must be filled with bombs set by me. I blinked so much in the shots and with that initial 'no mood' attitude.. In total, we took around 420-450 films and maybe over 60-80 with eyes closed. Left with probably 340-380 photos for us to select from.

Anyway, Woooaahhh...it's finally over!!!

1:17 AM

Just finished wrapping the gifts to bring to office tmr.

My big big boss has a short conversation with me before finishing work today.

Asking me whether my contract has been renewed and whether I am happy working with this current company. Next, have I consider going to the planning or material team since the chances of permanent conversion is higher? If I stay, I will have to wait for some time or longer to get a conversion.

I felt so puzzled after the conversation. My deepest thoughts:
1) Is he hinting to me that it is impossible to get a permanent job under the current status?
2) For prospect wise, it is better to move on?
3) He thinks I am a lousy admin and wants me to move?

Pondering for awhile on our conversation.

Ended work and heads for Parkway. Have dinner @ Ichiban. My friend was disappointed and angry with the service. Most of all, she requested for paper steamboat and it came late. Never mind, the side of the paper seems to be burnt. She complained that some thing is not right to the waitress and she ignored her! In the end, she called for the manager. And they only changed the paper instead of a replacement or offering her some others item from the menu. Haha... I knew it, she picked up a feedback card and namecard before leaving the payment counter. Soon, the management of this restaurant will be receiving a complaint letter from her!

Did a quick shopping. Been so busy these few days. Last minute shopping.. Browsing thru every item in the shops as I stepped in. Even when I met some friends on the way, I was so busy and filled with anxiousness buying gifts that I didnt pay attention or talk to them.

In the end, I bought gifts for boss and colleagues at work first. Over weekend, then I will shop the gifts for the rest.

I hate the stupid weather. Ytd, it rained so heavily that it flooded the island and next, it was cloudy (much to my disappointment). Sometimes, I felt in my anxious heart, I prayed very hard but it doesnt work and I felt even more disappointment. Lotsa encouragement from my colleagues. Well, I cant take control, others had booked the photographer, so got to wait till my turn. Dont know what will happen on coming Sat. If it doesnt work out, it will be the 5th or 6th time delaying the PS. Kinda of sickening.

The weather prediction (app) in S'pore doesnt work. The best is still wunderground.com (I used it for my overseas trip years ago, which is quite accurate). Next will be weather.com based on hourly caculation.

Christmas is coming. Have not started shopping for gifts. Doubt I have the time to do it on weekdays. Meeting my friend for dinner tmr and Christmas party on Fri. Most likely will be doing last minute shopping on Sun after church service.

Very worried about the recent weather. My outdoor PS has been postponed because of the rain. It rained heavily today. The predication on weather forecast is cloudy with irregular showers or heavy at times. Sign... Can it just be cloudy for Tuesday afternoon till evening? I dont wish to postpone and spend more to change dates liao.. If Tues cant, I will waste my leave to change it to Sat. By then, my 'da yi ma' may be here and who else the weather turns bad. Pls pray for me..

Viewed 2 flats this afternoon. Same block, both has very dark masterbed room.Out of all, one of the room's ceiling cracked very badly. Another viewing supposed to take place. Minutes to viewing, we have been informed that it was sold. Heard that it is quite newly renovated and owned by young couples, sold for only SGD5k above valuation. Sign.. What's not meant for us will not be ours.

More blessings come pls.. May God bless us so that we may bless those around us!

I also hesitate.. When is it our turn? Soon, I guessed.

Have uploaded some pics that we took secretly during PS. May check out the 2 pics @ friendster. 1 - polaroids taken used for styling and discussion and 1 - in my EG. Thanks to the photographer who captured it; makes both of us looked as if we are in our early 20s, especially Dar (He's so boyish w/o specs and makes me like a xiao nu ren as well as very jiao di di). Best are yet to come.. As it is taken using film, will take a longer time to develop.

Ytd was Dar's 26th birthday. Initially took 1/2 a day to celebrate with him. But it was called off as outdoor PS was postponed and need to save A/L for wedding. Went to Jack's place during lunch and at night, we had steamboat @ Bugis. Fed ourselves well with the Traditional ChongQing Steamboat. Yum.. took lots of prawn and dumplings. Ended the evening late as there are 10 of us including his family, cousins and aunty. Later, we went to his place till 2am.

Happy Birthday Darling! Farewell to your last singlehood birthday.. hee hee...

10:45 PM

Lazing in bed. Not a working day but woke up earlier than usual timing. Was a bit rush that we went to the market near the bridal shop for breakfast.

Started the 2 hrs make-up session. Had a great chat with the MUA. She has 3 kids and even want the 4th one if possible! What a great mother! If I am her, I think I will stop at 2.

The make-up was obviously very reddish but it looks fine in the pics. Took a few samples, discussed on the style, pose etc and started shooting. Was very tiring, not used to smiling so wide. They are a wonderful group of people. But no matter how they tried to bring out my smile, they cant. Deep down inside, I still prefer the quiet and reserved pics of me. Playing cheery music etc and constantly making me laugh. Cant image if I am photographer or the assistant, seems that they have 'entertained' their customers all the time. Sign.. the photographer was a bit a upset that he did not capture the angle he wants of me. I felt a bit lousy. I just cant buck up and be natural. Simply dont understand why too :(

By the time we ended the indoor shoot, weather still looks bad. We decided to drive to the outdoor venue in case the rain stops. Well, it didn't. Instead we drove passed a famous beancurd shop. We wanted to stop and have a snack but the photographer and assistant told us they are not allowed to in case they are being caught loitering with customers (that's happened once, once bitten, twice shy). We told them it's a secret btw all XD.. So... haha... we just do it and out of all.. got funny stares from others. Well, offers like sweets from korea and free treat from the boss. She told us have not seen bride and bridegroom drop by before. Maybe we will bring more prosperity to the shop. hee hee. First time in my life, getting free treat from total complete strangers too! :)

In the end, we have to arrange for outdoor shoots on another day. It will be probably next Tues or Sat then. Pray that we will settle everything by then and we are able to get the album in time!

One day before the wedding photoshoot.

Took half a day off from work to settle issues. Went for dentist appointment, went to the flower supplier @ Joan Rd, did 2 bouquets of flowers. It's pinky.. shocking pinky. Dear calls it 'aunty pink'. A bright pink that aunties like.. whatever.. I know it will be outstanding in the pixs. Went for french manicure, a bit upset that that lady who did my nails; didn't do a good job. I guessed she is new to the job. Went to dear's friend's place to borrow ties and cuffs (is that what they called it?) Mmmm.. a bit tired liao. Havent pack my things.

It's been drizzling. Hope and pray that it doesnt rain in the afternoon till evening tomorrow! And there will be nice pixs of the blue blue skies.

Time seems so short now.

No matter what. Nothing will spoilt my mood cause I want to be a pretty bride! :)

A meaningful email I received:

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups.

Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."

So, don't let the cups drive you... Enjoy the coffee instead

I feel weird. All along I have very black long hair. Now that I coloured it, it looks as if it is turning more brownish everyday. A strange contra, my black eyes, eyebrows and brown hair.

Work ended very early. Went off at 5.15pm.

Weekend is here again. Will be occupied - buying stuff and getting ready for photoshoot. This morning, I received 3sms telling to enjoy my PS. Immediately, I knew it. Must be my busy CG leader; she got the dates mixed up. Anyway, thanks gals! Pray that the weather on coming Thurs will be fine!

Months ago, Dar's coursemates and I suffered from food poisoning. Now, the restaurant called us and offered us to go back to eat @ FOC except for drinks on coming Sunday. Dont think same situation will happen to us again or we will never never step into that seafood restaurant again!

So as for dieting, like what my colleagues said - Never works for a glut!

The message that my colleague left on my desk before going on leave:

"Dear La La

Please DO NOT miss me.

Don't be a glut. Stop eating so much.

I have asked Skinny Stella to keep the food away from you."

Life is meaningless without food. No one can stop me from eating.. haha.. Those who knows me well will understand what I mean.

This evening, we spent our evening for a 2 hours lesson with our marrying pastor.

Covered a few topics on 'to-do' list, how to register for marriage, marriage in christian terms compared to a normal civil marriage. Enforcing that marriage is about 2 different person from different background and upbringing coming together as 1.

Main topic is the outcome of our TJTA done months ago. Assessment on personality for couples. Seems quite accurate!

Our similar traits - temperament, teachable, rest are similar.

For me - indifferent. Our pastor felt it is partly because my parents' broken marriage. More attention needed.

For him - submissive. Falling under the category of 'Qin-Chia' which stirred a lot of trouble for decisions making. Our pastor advice - to open up and make a firm decision whenever there is a choice to make and stick to it instead of questioning.

Our extreme - Organisation skills. This is the part whereby pastor always emphasized. Using our strength in covering other's weaknesses. I have to learn to help him. In turn, he has to help himself by enforcing more discipline.

Next and last lesson, we will be talking about our wedding preps. As well as topics on our upbringing and differences.

Another 2 weeks to go before the photoshoot.

This morning, we met up with our photographer and make up artist. For photograph taking, we decided on 90% colour and 10% black & white.

Outdoor - 2 choices:
1) Marina Park
2) Sentosa
3) Tanjong Merah

OR

1) Church
2) Lallang area + possibilities of Punggol Park
3) Beach near Yacht Club

Make-up & Hairstyle:
1) Curles for EG
2) Indoor - bundle up
3) Outdoor - Straight hair

Things to do before PS:
1) Hair cut for him & dye
2) Hair cut - front: cut to chin and layer (Sad to say farewell to my long fringe), back: thin layer & dye
3) Nail - light colour
4) Buy fresh flower for hair and hand bouquet

5) Bring shoes, belt, extra shirts & ties

6) Other accessories etc.
7) Dental appointment

Above are just the basic things to do. Thank God the bridal shop has equiped us with a 'to do' listing and good advices.

Some times, cant wait to get over all these things. In the past, I felt that wedding day is the BIGGEST event that could happen in my life. Now, I just felt that it is an end and a beginning. There is even more to look forward as marriage life approaches.

My friends are also getting married next year. Both happened to be July brides. Both are stressed up with search on venue and bridal shops. Both are equally upset that their partners are not showing enough concern. Understand how they felt - "Guo Lai Ren". Only can ask them to relax and open up. Saying is definitely easier than doing it. Those who been through the process will understand.

1st day of Tampines Ikea's opening. Was a great place, very spacious and plenty of free parking lots. But it was super packed with people. As I looked out of the restaurant glass window, it was a beautiful view with sunset and the car headlights on. But I guessed those who are stucked in the jam must be cursing and swearing. ;P

We bought 2 alarm clock that was at the offer price of SGD1.90 each and 6 wine glass @ SGD4.90. Seems like very cheapo.

In fact, I realised I have not got my flat but I have chunking my stuff at the side cupboard. Hope my mum dont complain. Estimating another few months or so, it may not support the barang barang at the rate I am going.

Pray that the flat will come soon. Tots of staying separately after marriage makes me feels sad.
