One of the daily devotions that hits me hard.
Hurry Up, God! by Dr. Warren Wiersbe (Read:Psalm 70:1-5)Has God ever been slow in your life? He was in David's. This undoubtedly was one of the psalms written when David was being harassed by King Saul. So he cries out, "Lord, why don't You do something? You're being awfully slow."
Have you ever pondered the delays of God? He is never in a hurry, but once He starts to work, watch out! He patiently accomplishes His work. David pleads, "Make haste, make haste" (v. 1). He repeats his plea in verse 5: "I am poor and needy; make haste to me, O God! You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay." If right now it seems as though God is tarrying instead of working, if it seems as though He is delaying instead of acting, what should you do? Seek Him and wait on Him and love Him. Verse 4 says it beautifully: "Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, 'Let God be magnified!"' We've seen that phrase before. David, when he was sinking, said, "I . . . will magnify Him with thanksgiving" (Ps. 69:30).
Here's a good lesson for us. When God is not moving as rapidly as we think He should, when our timetables do not coincide, what should we do? Rejoice in Him, love Him and magnify Him. Let Him worry about the timetable. God is always working, and we know that all things are working together for good (Rom. 8:28). But He waits for the right time to reveal His victories. Let Him watch the clock.
* * *
God's delays are a part of your character-building process. The next time God gives you a delay, encourage yourself by remembering that He never stops working for you, and He knows when and how to help you. Submit to His timetable and His care.

More wedding bells ringing from this week till end of Jul. Attended one at Raffles Hotel last evening, filled with 80% company employees as both groom and bride are from our company (Looks more like a D&D). Top notch venue but to me, the food is average. Basically, at times, it depends on the company of people you are sitting with.
Happy things surrounding me as well as sad ones. More and more leaving the company. :( I am also hesitating. Should I continue with the things I am doing, another 3-4months to contract expiry? Mmmm..
So far, I am happily settled as a 'wife'. My Hub always expressed his grateful and thankful heart to me for helping at home. While working in the afternoon, he SMSed me.
Hubby: Thanks for ironing and washing my clothes.. Very nice.
Me: You never realised that it smell nice? Oh.. Next time I will add more washing powder.Another BBQ gathering later. Organised by my colleagues for team bonding. The quiet team that's under my care. They are very independent and 'hush-hush' as compared to roundy and noisy group I had earlier. (But kinda of missed them at times).
Sore throat now. Better drink more 'liang-teh'.

I felt like an aunty now. My grandma has given me some money to buy jewellery as gift for my wedding. I've been eyeing for diamond earrings (Of course, it doesn't come cheap, around $1K plus even for non-certified ones). But I gave up though I loved to have a pair. No point since it is just a piece of 'glass' in the eyes of guys.
Being 'brainwashed' by my colleagues during lunch that reasons for buying gold is worth more than diamonds. I changed my money about utilizing the money. Since GST will be increasing by end of the week, better do it fast.
In the end, this evening, I made a trip to Yishun Ctrl. Hearing from my colleague that there are some jewellery shops. I waited for Hubby to come and pick within the budget I had. Somehow, I felt so 'song' entering the place. Last time I went was to pick a gift for my mum and mum-IL. Always have the impressive that only older generation or 'aunty' will buy gold. Took a long time to pick the braclet. One thing about neighbourhood shops is that we can bargin. So 'Uncle' Goon helped me to save 9 bucks. In the end, still left another 100 for a small top-up like earring or pendent (I picked earring).
To cut the story short, I tried the earring back at home. It looked so nice. Well, gold looks good on me. Now, I think I want to go back and buy another braclet that I liked *Ching Ching* - salesman must be happy to see me again. Better still, I better digged out the gold items given by my relatives and try. (Ai Yoh, I am really an Aunty at heart! Die La!)
As for Dar, not only he bargined like an Uncle. On our way back after parking, he saw a decent cabinet to be dumped away outside the childcare centre. He was laughing and smiling. He intend to buy one for his camp to put bags. Now, he saw one, he GRABBED!! (He is stealing business or pick-up from the ah nei). OMG. Anyway, now he is on his way to camp after his friend lent him the van to deliver item to his camp.
So, ya la, married liao. Really turned us into the older generation - Uncle and Aunty!

While heading downstairs, I realised that I have totally forgotten about giving monthly allowance to my mum. No wonder I feel rich despite spending on quite a fair bit of things. But didn't bring my card down, I will try to remember tmr.
After surfing the net for 30mins, another item. I have created our wedding site months ago. It's also long forgotten. Even the tickle timing states 92 days since wedding day. Time for me to update the inform.
But something, I DIDNT forget - to chase after my photographer for the wedding pics. We paid a deposit of SGD100 and awaiting for the AD pics to be delivered (Doesn't he want the balance of the $$). I have been longing for one pic - family portait (I got the frame all ready to put up at my desk). I have been calling him for weeks and SMSing him. Only one or two weeks ago managed to get hold of him. Well, in contract - states: 6-8 weeks. Before our honeymoon, it's end of the month (End of May). Mid of June, he mentioned before 3rd week of Jun. Now, it's approaching end of Jun. It's ending.. Many are waiting (My grandparents, in-law, friends, their parents, my CG mates), even I felt 'gan-cheong' now.
Where is it? And when ah?

Hubby is working today till late (due to N Day rehearsal). As usual, slept till 11plus. Lazed in bed and decided to do housework. Almost 3mths since wedding, I admit that I am better at doing housework nowadays. From Zero to estimating time required. At times, my Sis-IL asked me 'why bother' (Since nobody do it at home and I am not trained in it). Well, I got to learn. Sooner or later, I will have my own house. I am well pampered by mum who is a 100% housewife and NEVER touch even washing machine, dishes etc since young. Now, I am capable to use it etc. In fact, I remembered the first time I ironed Hub's working pants. Instead of a straight line, it became 4-5 lines (*faint*) when he saw it. Today, I am better and faster than him. Ok, I think you must be thinking I am turned into a 'huang-lian-po'! By doing the chores today, we are free to go dating instead of telling people that we are in rush to go home just to iron, wash etc. ;)
Last night, I was out, having drink when my friend who was slightly depressed over relationship, studies, work and finance. That morning, I just had a conversation with BF kaki on studies. He was telling me that I should upgrade my qualication ASAP. I was telling him, look, I have thoughts of taking the course but sometimes, I am very concerned on financial issues like house etc. I was told off by just going ahead (Maybe at his job level, single status, he dont have to be worried) . Sigh, I just dont understand why some think that way. Well, just give me sometime to settle the house. It's never easy to buy a house, settle/overseeing renovation and start buying furniture/electronic stuff, especially for first-time owners. Moreover, we used hard cash on my wedding and besides, you cant drain your savings w/o saving for rainy days. Never did I ask money from his or my family for contribution. I felt upset. I cant just go ahead w/o thinking. :(
Anyway, when I met up my friend, she told what happened. She took up the degree course cause she wants that paper qualification too. Now that she cant cope with her job, she cant leave too. There's financial constrain, no job, no pay leave (What if she is jobless for months) and stuck. Some complication issues with relationship adds on to depression. From her, I learnt that need and want some management of my own.
I will continue with my studies, dont nag, dont add pressure on me. Ok? (I have been thinking it not just recently but for years..) Now, I am settled with wedding stuff, next is the house.
If you think I am pathetic, just pay for my school fees (resolves all).
Sorry if you think I felt hard up. This topic is like forever everytime I meet one or two relatives or some 'inconsiderate' friends who are too self-centered..
Sob Sob Sob..

Wrong information given to my colleagues. Paiseh! :P
Checked with my boss abt the white badge, thinking it's a simple paper and completion in 3hrs total as mentioned that would be 3 hours credited when we registered. Ytd spent almost 3 hrs. Today, la-gi worse, 4hrs plus online and abt 45-60mins to answer (Started ard 3+, ended at 8plus) . Everyone was trying to attempt it by Fri to meet deadline - 24 Jun (Cause nobody want to log in over weekend to do it). In the end, we did it w/o much concentration - work and study concurrently.
Ok lah, in the end, we passed. *Phew* - just one paper kills. Cant image if I wanna to continue my studies from where I left 4-5 years ago. How? Well, I gave the excuse that I am not keen in understanding topic that's totally unrelated to my job. LAME :P

I think it is the new blue top that I wore to work today that I heard comments that I looked thinner. First, my colleagues who shifted into the room months ago said that I am growing thinner and thinner, at times too frail. In the evening, another colleague sitting outside the same lorong said that too.. Not that happy leh, the weighing scale shows that I have put on 2kg. Another guy added that I should eat more but after he passed by my cube, he went "I take back what I said, I think you really snack a lot" (isn't it too obvious, the table full of snacks like chocolate, sweets, cheese rolls etc). So where did that 2kg went to? Maybe my tummy and butt.
An email received that even contractors have to take the industry 'white badge' test. According to my boss, it's a simple online test but everyone take it so seriously as if it is a PHD or Master. In the end.. tiring. It was an online tutorial that took coming to 2 hrs to listen that colleagues were either asleep or yawning.. Plus another 1/2hour to complete it. Stress man, there's people who flunked the test!
Thank God, the brunch of us passed! Yeah!! On average, 86% and one of us - 100%. :)
Updates on flat againSorry to let you guys know that it's been call off. Some terrible history and I have approached my CG to pray about it - but at least, a load off my shoulders. In Aug, we will still go for the ballot, fingers crossed, legs crossed. God bless!!

Just a joke to start with.. Before I start blogging. Dar's friend IM me asking moi abt another friend of ours..
Friend: hey how did jarimaya last jobs end up in commodity trading?
Me:???
Me:nope. dont know who is he
Friend: Brother in wedding, the pump man
Me: Jeremiah?
Friend: ya...dun know how to spell
Me: I tot tha's a Malay name
Now, Jeremiah = Jarimaya = Jia Le Mia YaOk, back to what I wanna write for the day.
Recently, I felt that Dar has changed a fair bit in character since married. Overall, still a Mr Nice Guy but at times, temper is a bit fiery..
He sounds a bit rude when he talked to me. I complained that he is not as gentle, well he tried to tone down. At times, he said that he is in bad mood (Never heard he saying that our courtship days).
Another day, I was complaining that I havent received flowers since we tied the knot. He plucked one from an opening ceremony flower stand within that week (so cheapo!).
Last night, he had a plot. While brushing my teeth outside the toilet (Sis-IL) was inside bathing.. He was saying that why I forbid him to take supper (My concern is he's gaining and it's bad for health). Anyway, was speaking LOUDLY and defending himself and saying I am not only forbidding him but also about his family. I was slightly loudly (forgetting that Sis IL was near), saying that it's up to individual but I care about him, his health, reasoning etc.. and not only moi DONT have the habit, our friends too. He went blah blah.. till I heard the shower. Back in the room, he smiled and I was boiling. He DID IT on PURPOSE!!! He just used me to convey the message, well, in short that was not a good idea. (See, there is always the ugly side of man, no one is an ANGEL always!):O
Days ago, he called a house agent to ask about selling price. When the agent told him it was abt 30-50k cash + house value.. He went "Siao ah, who want to be the carrot to buy the house".
Is his change good? At times, I was a bit upset. Like showing his true colours though I know him for donkey years. Brighter side, he is learning and undertraining to be MAN, more demanding and others will not take advantage of this.
Some updatesNo nightmare last night, had a good rest. But I hit Dar's back when he refused to press the alarm clock this morning. When he is wide awake, he said "Is it in my dream that you hit my back or you hit me for real?" Well, I laughed.

Last night...
Dar cant sleep. I also cant..
For him, he was too excited after house viewing. Not yet bid for anything or ask my mum; he's thinking about changing the outlook of the house. colours to paint, how to adjust the setting etc..
For me, I was down with a terrible nightmare. I dreamt that I viewed the top of the house, went down to my plc. Then his CG leader came to me with scary look, with only eye-white, telling me that both houses are haunted but the evil spirit left shortly after he was there. Then, his eyes looked normal. So eerriiie.. I was so scared that I dont dare to open my eyes.
So extreme, we both sms our CG leader but they said nothing much..
In short, Dar is still keen but he wants to wait till valuation report is out then try to convince her.
I wonder how, maybe if I get another nightmare, he has to start convincing me too. ;P

I wonder if we are picky but not only me, but Dar has slightly more exp. taste.
We were at the Furniture Mall this afternoon. Was told that maybe we should buy our furniture, mattress, electronics first and request to store it since the increase of GST. We went to one of retailers selling KingKoil. Last round we were there, we eyed for one set of mattress that was reasonably price. This round, may the series was gone. Saw another set, it was more than 1600. Never mind, we went to other shops, ended seeing another set, this time (you're right). more EXPENSIVE, 2769.. Bleah.. but it was so comfortable that we sunk ourselves for a good 15mins. Thank God we are not in hurry to get it. They can store it till Jan only. Dont know by then can we secure the flat. Sigh.
Seems that the whole neighbour knows that we are looking for flat. Well, must be one the Auntie chatting session that was revealed to others. Got a call from my neighbour's son-in-law that there is the flat above my mum's plc that is selling. My mum was not keen cause she has labelled as 'bad' fenshui flat. People who shifted in always got trouble.
Well, no harm viewing. It was breezy, still well-renovated but toilets and kitchen ceiling leaks very badly. My next-door neighbour has complained that aircon and toilet has been affected by the seller. Mmmm.. Plus their finance issue and their quarrels (asking for 30k above val). The agent can comment> Dont worry, got finance issue but never owes Loan Shark la, got marital issue but never jump. OMG, still can joke.
Ok, now, let's see how Hubby is going to convince mum before we try the low bid. Mum is in bad mood today.. To be updated..

This morning, read the ST. Kinda frustrated that how can the people be so greedy. I MEAN yah, money is never enuff but imagine, not satisfied with the extra cash they earned from selling their house.
The day before, it published a man who bought a 5-room flat above 0.5million. If I have the money, I rather buy a free-hold. Anyway, it was mentioned that the houses are like hotcakes in the market, estimated the property market will burst by next year. *Sigh*.
Some updates, we decided to go for the balloting in Aug for mature estate sold by HDB. At least we can stop worrying abt cash abv valuation etc. But must pray hard to secure the Q no. in front to secure flat from the booklet listing. Well well, we really dont have much choice.
Been lazy to load the Jap pics since the computer at my mum's plc has crashed and all data gone, can only do it at my IL (In-Law)'s plc.
Pics are the happy moments of the trip. From left, shadow - Dar said I looked as if I have big bottom (That's my bag, ok??), Centre - two happy faces, I combed his hair that morning.. hahah.. he commented that it looked like a sun. Right - was taking a Nemo ride in Disney, was so speedy that I cant open my eyes and he was happily snapping the pics of us:

I think I am a goner.
While others worked so hard, I was eating snake surfing the net for information. Nothing much to do at work since all my bosses are on vacation and no VIPs, visitors and no meetings, even the team of people I worked with are on leave too!!
Must confess that I spent my day, most entire day online looking for degree courses and checking. My freaking character - if I want some thing, I want it speedy, no patience. My mum used to think why I had such strange (Demanding, paiseh) behaviour till recently, she discovered I actually takes after my paternal grandma. Not only mum said that, my hubby also realised that.
Ok, back to my research for the day. Looks like still square one - it's either a bridging or diploma (But I already have 3..)? To think that I thought that university was very recognised in ranking as well as academically.. sigh. Maybe this will wave off the thoughts to continue my studies.
My lunch talk with my colleague who did her degree with the same institution, course for my adv diploma. Think twice, thrice. Except for working with semi or govt body, no one bothers abt the transcript. All they looked into is your highest qualification plus working exp.
So, the weighing scale of pros and cons sets into my mind. Should I or not? If I dont, I will have less stress, more saving for rainy days, family planning, more holidays, more time etc. A degree helps to upgrade my qualification, security, maybe better pay and job opportunities but delays my plans and stress like $$ as well as time and whether can I endure..
Sigh, I am really hopeless. Someone or God, pls answer me!!

Thinking a lot lately. About going back to school. Just went for a preview at APMI, heard from friend it's not bad. At least it is assignment based, meet in week 3, 4 for tutorials per unit. But when I was there, realised because of the crossover from another uni, I got to fork out another 2k + increase of GST, that's also ard 20k in total. Should I give up the idea? Now, house is an issue and it's in the priority list. I went to ATM to see how much saving we have. I think it's really enuff for house reno, plus miscellaneous and that's it. As for degree, got to wait. But by then, maybe my will power is not there anymore. Sigh, I need someone to support partial of my school fees. Any kind soul?
At the same time, thinking whether I should cut my hair short. I kept it as I got a round face, helps to conceal the fats (hahah, as if it does) and being deprived of keeping long hair in my secondary school days motivate me to keep it till now. Also, my Sunday school kids, especially girls loves my long hair and people also praise how soft and shiny (when it is not a bad hair day). But after my wedding, I found it troublesome especially I had the habit of washing it at night daily, lately, I feel so tired by 11pm that I dozed off. Normally cant be bother even when it's wet but I have a lovely hubby who helps me to blow dry while I sleep. Now, he makes me feel guilty that he sleeps later than me. How???
A new nickname for my hubby - 10 mins man. Cause everytime he wants to come and fetch me from work, I would have to call him asking the ETA and his reply is always '10 mintues'. Being well-known for SUPER LATE KING. So eventually, it's 10 mins + 10 mins + 10 mins (usually 30-40mins). Thereafter, my colleague always asked me whether Mr 10 Mins is coming.
Today, while waiting for Mr 10 Mins after the preview, I shopped happily at Centrepoint (Attractive sales and good buy @ Robinsons). So blessed to have an encouraging hubby, never did he scold me of buying so much clothes or wasting money lately; he even compliment the choice of items I bought. The New Sensitive Age man!! :)

A slap on my face when I stand on my weighing machine this evening ;O
I must be eating too much goodies after I settled down with marriage life. I have gained more than before wedding.. Sigh. So sad.
So, I changed into my sports attire after storing it in the cupboard for many months and jogged for few rounds around the neighbourhood park. Now, my aim is to lose another 3-4kg by my birthday in Aug.
♥
I remember that Mr Brown has a topic on "Zhen" your car. I have a colleague who owns a Lancer who crazy about 'zhening' his car.
Well, somehow, odd but I talked a fair bit since Dar used to have the interest years back (Moreover the other 2 gals in the room are too quiet). Last evening, we talked about car tinning.. Guessed what? Yup, there were 5 cars (with my hubby) who took up the tinning package in 2005 and he's one of them. Needless to say, my colleague also know Dar's friend since he is also in the Lancer club. The world is always so small. A lot of friends seems to be linked up to my friends, Dar's friends or my brother (Being the giant in school>HIHS btw 1994-1998, you will notice him too)..
This weekend, I will be away for my EW. My hubby is out for loan (No restriction and curfew from me.. as if there is..). Well, he has planned his own program - work on Sat, night cycling, church on Sun, housework and ferry me from YWCA. Looks like, sorry guys, he's not on loan again.. hahahah...
4 weddings coming up from end of June till mid of Jul. Close colleague, ex-coll cum so-called good friend, Dar's friend, church friend.. All my money earned will go to angbao. My friend was saying I can work hard and earn my money thru a baby.. Good suggestion?? Your friend here not really leh, got a BIG baby to take care is enuff..
Some update on pics - my AD wedding is still not ready. I sms Sam but he never replied. Looks like his business must be doing well but dont delay mine for tooo long. I am also too lazy to upload the honeymoon pics, will try my best with some motivation ok?
Yup yup, everyone, have a good weekend ahead!!! :)

Great time at Sunday School. For ages I confessed, always late.. But today I was early.. hahahah.. cause today, I went to Sunday School without Dar (He's at work and with him, we are always late, late, late). One of the kids asked me "Jie Jie, where's your Gor-Gor?" Funny :D Haven't heard kids at S.S. calling me that. Anyway, I didn't bother telling her he's my hubby. I only replied "Oh, he's at work".
Kicked off for Great S'pore Sales has started while I was in Japan. Shopping in Jap is fantastic, so, nothing seems worth buying. But it's really a woman's world when it comes to shopping. I will control taking that cash/card out of my wallet!!!
Afterall, we have both burnt BIG BIG big pocket on wedding and honeymoon. In total, we spent close to $22K and now house coming soon (I pray). My CG member was sharing, it's a norm that the couple need at least $50K cash on hand - 20 for wedding + honeymoon, 20 for house, renovation and another 10 for furniture, electronics etc..
So, how does the poor get married in S'pore? Probably scrape and save very hard too..

Had been snacking a lot.
Bought a lot of snacks from Japan trip and when we unpacked our things days ago, we realised all snacks are expiring in few days or weeks' time (Japanese not only have QC but freshness assurance).
Must meet up with everyone and pass on, or weight will increase. Some that I cant resist are the chocolates and sweets melts in our mouth..
Long weekend again. I must load the photos. Just explained to my sis-in-law while adjusting the pics. We took over 1000 pics.
Ok, back to snacking again. Be back soon..
