Sharing some pixs on the last day of my farwell.

The 'compulsory' items to bring to work everywork, without them, die.. cant work.. The limited space I have.. with my only laptop and 'makan' stuff which is getting lesser nowadays. I showed Dar on my work cubicle. He was shocked to see that my workplace is so small, he described it as 1.5m by 1.5m - yah, the little fishtank or rather the 'transparent' exhibition place. And look at the BIG bags of barang barang - that my mum is begging not to bring too much 'rubbish'. And last, the exit clearance with my consultant.. He said, 'must advertise for the company lor!'

Took some pictures with my colleagues randomly. As it is a Friday, some of them were on leave :( No chance to take pictures with the rest of them.. Thanks guys for the farewell party etc. You are a wonderful team to work with.. From mailroom, to other admins, project teams, my gang, the breakfast kakis, the canteen supervisors, my boss, my 'lorong' people etc. As you can see, from high to low level and different age, races, very international too.

Wuaahh... I really missed you all!!

9:49 PM

Today is the last day of working day with current company.

So sad that good things has come to an end.

It's been really an enjoyable and fruitful journey there. I had great colleagues, good and understanding bosses, great working environment. But there is a reason for leaving. Sob Sob..

I never know that I have such a big team of people to bid goodbye. 3 different buildings - many levels. And of course, the most difficult part is holding my tears back when I talked and huggie from my closer colleagues. Well, it was well-controlled except for the emailing part. After the thank-you and farewell note, replies came in. It really touches my heart to know so many care and others were very appreciative of the things I done. One of the great appraisal from my own direct boss.

Yes, who knows if things dont work out well, I will go back begging for a post.

Thanks everyone!! I will definitely miss everyone and all of you!!! SOb Sob..

Dear God,

Thank you for the 2 wonderful years I had. Please teach me everyday to value and treasure the things surrounding me.

Let me bring with the things I have learned to the next company. And contribute even more! May the love and growth continues.

And yes, continue to bless my colleagues and my bosses in all aspects of life!

Amen!!

Today is 24 September 2007.

We have been happily married for 6 months! Mmm.. I think over the months, we learnt more about another and to level out some of our differences.

Hopefully by 1st year anniversary, we can have a place of our own.

But let's settle my new school term and upcoming new job. By end of Nov, Hubby will be posted to India for attachment. YES, out of all places - Southern India.. Good lah, no choice to look at woman and shop, but may drink or eat.. Hee hee.. I am sure he will miss home. He told me he will be back just in time to celebrate his Birthday with me. Details yet to be finalised.

7:03 PM

Weekend is coming to an end.

Friday, another 7 days countdown to bid farewell to my existing company. Just happen that there is a carpet shampooing taking place in the office, I took the opportunity to clear the junk and rubbish that I have collected underneath my desk for the past 2 years. I collected the most - plastic bags / big and small. And a lot of unused files and envelopes, thinking I will recycle it.

End of the evening, I went to my CG leader's new home. Full of envious, she bought it at 0 value, the deal is paying the ex-owner's agent commission on his behalf, that was when property was at a lower end months ago. House is nicely decorated, modern style. She spent a total of 20K, very reasonable pricing, but a lot of effort chasing the lazy contractors to do up the place.

I think God is fair, further studies is part of my dream. If I own a house, I would never think of finishing studies cause I would definitely be very worried about setting budget for my house, followed by studies. Heard that property has dipped slightly. Reason: the property has been too hot and beyond control in S'pore as well as overseas. If we wait for another few months, the hotcake period may calm down. At least, cash above valuation may be lower.

On Sat morning, I went for my health check at SATA. Suppose to have the pap smear test, as there wasn't any female doctor, I will have to do it next Sat. Did my urine test, and blood test, the lady who assisted to draw my blood was very good, no pain and done within a minute or two.

It was early, I walked from Ayer Street to Maxwell market (chicken rice stall was not opened), I walked on to Tanjang Pagar Market, who knows it is under RENOVATION!! :( I managed to locate Chocolate n Spice branch, bought the yummy muffins! Walked on to Amoy Street Market (My ex-work place used to be nearby). I missed the food - Han Kee fish soup, the Tai Seng Noodles House, the Ginger Tea, Kueh, Fried Oyster Cake. MMmmm... I will go back after coming Sat's check-up to eat more. And walked on to China Square basement, and finally People's Park!! Haha. When something interest a woman, nothing makes her legs ache!

Back at home, the never endless housework. Why is it that no matter how I sweep or mop the floor, it is still dusty>> sigh!

Morning, I went for SS. Today, the boys in my team are very naughty. They gang up and refused to listen to instructions till I threatened to ask them out of the worship room. During small group, (our focus is God loves all the little children) there was a picture of a Mexican boy in his costume. Jonanthan shouted "The boy is a wearing a witch's hat!!" All the adults burst into laughter. Of course, some explanation given.

During the sermon, must be the miss of fish soup @ Amoy St Market, I desperately craved for fish soup - good one some more! We realised that there isn't any in the east area. Well, I had it near my IL's place, next Sat, I will head for the one Amoy straight after check up!

Hub, his friend and I went to Bishan Park for roller blading. 3 of us looked like crazy octopus!! Meaning we are all beginners! I fell twice, once while waiting for the guys, another, while trying to take a seat.. So pai seh cause I screamed!!

End of evening, sure to have my backside aching tmr. Hub's friend, very keen to pick up blading - looks like you can find the 3 OCTOPUS at Bishan Park next weekend!

8:38 PM

Thanks for praying. I think I have forgotten to mention that I had passed the lungs X-ray and urine test last week.

This coming Sat, I am going to SATA for female package check-up. Should take up the offer since the promo is only for staff. So, must get up early to make it for the appointment. First time going for papsmear test, heard that it is slightly painful.

Confirmed that next Friday is my last day with current company. Sigh, just received email notice that I can encash my balance annual leave but, at the same time, I am not entitled to my AWS (not even pro-rated!) since I didnt fulfil my contract, just 25 days to go. In my opinion, it's good to move over first to pick up the new job. Guess so too, though I heard some got it. Some loss, some gain. Who knows I may gain more in the new job. So, must learn to take it easy (Though AWS can help to pay off some school fees..). NEver mind..

Some madness and berserk happened at work. I told Hubby what happened. He called this the "LOA" symptom. haa, for you to guess.

This afternoon, I spent time shedding useless documents, packed 1/4 of my stuff @ cubicle aka fishtank. I never know I collected so much 'rubbish' - character of a woman - fickle minded, kept keeping till it became junk!

Lost in my own world. Kept thinking that it's Thursday today. 2 more days to weekend!

Just came back from AMK.

Sent the wedding pixs for developing. High time to pass it to friends and relatives. (I have been married for almost 6months!) My granny who didn't attend the wedding has been anxious to view the album, we only meet once a year - CNY. At least, now, mummy can pass it to her to view partial. Maybe next time, her place is in Choa Chu Kang. Far far away.. :(

Next is to develop will be my honeymoon pixs follow by BD pixs and HongKong pixs. Dont trust soft copy anymore after no recovery can be done to my harddrive (And to think my bro is an IT expert). Sigh.

So gentle reminder for those who has been keeping pixs in their computers, laptops. Compile and send for developing @ some shops, as cheap as 20cents per pc. No regrets and you will have it for lifetime. :)

6:43 PM

The new batch of team shifted into the room in March, after my wedding.

Well, life is not as noisy or interesting. Their characters differ from another team. Former works late and on concall all the time, younger group - more topics, more fun. This team is a bit dull - more self-centred.

But recently, one got attached. Attitude changed and now, it's like living in hell. Can you image one stumping the mouse, private calls, personal stuff, not update the reports, data with errors and some times dozes off (I am not holy, but pls have some work ethics) Stumping is showing that you are not mature to control your emotions, everyone is also having the stress working.. Hahah, going bersek, siao liao.

Two example(s) (I was not there), but that person has insulted and disrespect others in the room even the more gentle colleague was angry and frustrated. Farting numberous of times (yes, can you image? not that it's a bad stomach or unwell) and some mushy n 'sexual' talk with the g/f.. (faint!) till one of them confronted and was told off "it is none of your business" (To me, after hearing, it is categorized as 'sexual harrasment'). Maybe it didn't happen to me cause I will definitely tell off directly in the face or tell the manager.

Enuff of the nonsense, if things are bad for you, you have made our lives worse off than yours when you start behaving in this way!!

If nothing can make you happy working in the company, you may proceed. No one will stop you!

Thank you!!

Just came back from the saloon.

I instructed the stylist, cut the back by 3inch. Mmm.. length is just right. She said, 'Short for front?' and I nodded my head. Who knows, more than 5inches gone!!! Sob Sob..

As it is irritating at eye level, I told her to cut shorter. Now, I looked like a-gong. But surprisingly, my sis like my new hairstyle. She said looked younger but face fatter.. Sigh, so round alreadi, good lah, round like big apple, chubby chubby.

I feel like knocking my head aginst the wall now! :(

11:55 PM

Counting down another 2 weeks to go.

I guessed I will miss everyone. Tmr, going for my urine and X-ray test, if everything goes well, new changes will take place on 1 Oct. What unexpected drop-in. God answers prayers in a lot of ways. It's about time too, I have to overcome the fears I faced previously. Applied what I had learnt and life just change and goes on.

Today, I had 2 BIG meals. For lunch, it was the quarterly appreciation team lunch @ Pu Tien (Xing Hua) Restaurant - not bad. Service was good, located at Kitchener Rd, they even provide valet parking! The owners and helpers are couples from XingHua (which I learned it is a province in China, also another dialect language)

Dinner was at M hotel - Cafe 2000. Semi buffet - main course + buffet. Why it called semi buffet? Mmmmm... Not bad but no idea whether it was costly as it is a treat from Hubby's colleague who is getting married tmr. Treat for helping out. His should be well-planned. That's good. Not like mine, still struggling till night and so many things to do. Sigh. So relief that getting wed is only once in a life time. Phew..

Trying to drink more water now.. but too much till I felt like vomitting. Heard from my colleague that he failed his urine test too.. His advice - fast and drink lotsa water. Oh oh.. never fast, hope that water consumption helps.

Past 12 now, thought that it's only 11 plus. Must pack the room tmr, too messy, filled with stuff we bought from HKG and Hub's things..

Deceving status.

Married for coming to 5 and half months. Marriage and singlehood to me is similar, not much changes except that I have an extra 'Dad & Mum'. And I must admit, I am quite good at doing housework, not like initially, with struggles and tiredness.

The deceiving thing is those who dont know thinks that I am single. Haha.. That's great. Not like my uncle who said 'Married = Aunty'. No!! Ladies, never think that way. I also think I am young at heart.

I am still very much enjoying the 'singlehood' life. Babies.. Mmm.. maybe one or two years later mah..

Now, full concentration on my career and upcoming, school again! I have confirmed having the green light to finish off my business management course. Just 1 year to go, I will try my best to aim for 1st class (Ambitious!!) if not, at least a 2nd class. Wish me the best!!

For next 2 weeks, I plan to have as many gatherings and give myself spare time to do whatever I have in mind.

Freedom is here and going off soon..

4:09 PM

It rained this morning. I woke up at my IL's place. Sotong me, thinking I have forgotten to bring the house key, I called Hubby who is at work on full shift, waited for my sis-IL to wake up and realised that my brunch of keys is placed on the coffee table. Big Boo-Boo..

Rush for the body check-up before the appointed clinic closed at 1pm. Everything is in tact except my urine test!! I tried twice and laboratory man was telling me my body is too 'heaty', must drink more water (I tot I drink a lot!), SIAN. Be back next week for the test and X-ray test again. Troublesome but at least I am glad that my health is ok.

Quite a no. of my female colleagues also went for the woman check-up. Maybe I should sign up for the basic package. Very reasonable @ 50plus inclusive of GST.

More than half a day gone. Late, dinner at my mum's plc, back to IL for housework. Tmr, SS, church service, lunch with family, bills to clear and unpacking that I have been delaying, maybe intention to jog in the evening. Rest of the night is gone.

Weekend - I wish it last longer.

7:19 PM

Been lazy to update my blog. And lazy to unpack the balance of my 'possessions' - luggage has been left opened for days.

Day 1
We arrived in the city of HKG. It's a busy city. It was a miserable room with a miserable toilet and out of all - small, short and super hard bed (Pay peanuts get monkey). After unpacking our things and went straight to TST for some 'dim sim'. Well, things turned bitter when Dar is not organised and we lost our way, we were lost at where to head for, no itinerary, no direction. Of course, we tried to reconcile and put the bitterness aside. Shopped thru Jordan road. We went for famous Light show near the riverside and also to the Victoria Perk (taking the tram up was an interesting experience!). Wonderful and beautiful night scenery. Went back to TST for super late dinner @ Ajisen - they have fish maw ramen that was good.. and walking back to hotel is tiring. Unpacked again and slept at 2am

Day 2
Woke up late. Shopped most the time looking faround, shopping. Went for Espirit.. nothing. Bob Bob..Sigh.. Shopping shopping and shopping. Tried roasted goose the 1st time in my life - YUM! We went for light show again, walking further down with 'xin guan da dao'. We took some pixs, went to SOGO by coincidence and Mirmaram hotel. Went to temple street, nothing much for the quality is either bad or fake goods. Dinner at "Da Jia Le" big portion at low price. Continue with Ladies Street market, disappointed, empty handed. But Hub tried the fermented doufu (Eeeeee!!!) and I myself got addicted to the 'curry fishball' (it's like a 'must have' dish everyday!!) ;P

Day 3
Woke slightly earlier. Hub complained. It's tiring like BMT training, lotsa walking, no food and carried all my stuff all the way(heehee). We had Very BIG portion of breakfast set at one of the HongKong cafe - 3 bf sets for 2 pax. The waitress asked "for 3?", Hub smiled, "For both of us!" Shortly, we proceed to a morning market near Flower St. Cheap cheap, cheap shoes, cheap t-shirts for home wear. It poured heavily at Flower St, and out of all my shopping collection this round - I bought a wooden BASKET!! Ya, funny right? I like it so much, it's floral cloth inside and white handle, very 'angmoh' style.. Continued with Birds lovers corner nearby and Argyle Ctr - like our Far East Plz. Didnt buy much though it's cheap - still felt we have better quality. Hub bought more t-shirts. In the evening, we went to Causeway Bay, streets are like Korea - DongDaMen. Clean unlike Mongkok, Jordan and TST. 'More class la' quoted by Hub. We had the famous wonton mee, and shopping shopping.. The maids there very rich leh; we met a few of them who shopped w/o hesitation. Wow.. A Hongkonger told us maids there are not like S'pore, they stayed separately from employers and better salary and better treatment. (Like that, I also want to work there, hee hee).

Day 4 - Final Day (HOME SWEET HOME)
We missed the shuttle bus and came out late. A short trip to Repulse Bay, first - Stanley Market. Things are even cheaper there than Ladies St! We did quite a lot of shopping, for lunch, we had their 'maggie mee'. But something bad happened (Very hard to explain) but just keep in mind, gentleman, protect the girls and dont look around and walk to the end of alley yourself. :( We went back and 'ta bao' goose back for our family members... packed our things and yes, going back to airport by your own is better. We took the free ride by hotel, ended picking travellers over the place and took us 1hour 30mins to reach the HK airport! Very rush dinner and check-in. And thank God the flight reached home 30 mins earlier!! :)

In short, if you asked me whether I like the place, I would say - I love my country!

8:30 PM

Nothing can compare to home - the air, people, food.

The weather is hot there but not so humid.

Our hotel room is small, the bathroom is small, the bed is even smaller! It's like lying on a kid's size. We often take the morning shuttle bus to MTR but walking back to the hotel at night was tiring. In the end, we took a cab. One conclusion, never never stay far from the transportation mode.

Sorry, I am tired after barely typing a few sentence (Could be that we unpacked the stuff till 2am and I was back to work this morning).

To be continued..
