Tiring day. Busy.

Trying to work on the business trip information. I really have no idea but it is just my first major project.

I know I am careless, but now learning to be tactful. I think it's bit slow but steady. At least things are in control for awhile.

Things happened, a fair bit of happy news from my friends who both got married in July, mums-to-be next year. But also frustration with some who are not being understanding in some situations.

Now, just need some time for myself and especially with my Hub.

So many things to do for the past week.

Handling work co-ordination, upcoming business trip, D&D, classes, test, assignments, SS.. Sign, plus my IL's house painting. Been exhausted totally in-and-out!

So little time, hope that Nov will be over soon. Come year end, probably things will turn out better..

After this weekend, my boss is back in the office, more things and double steps to take. Coming Tuesday is the D&D, theme is 80s pop! And not RETRO - what's differences? No idea, but seems that everyone is so serious, I will give it a try. Last evening, I bought a pair of golden shoes and today, big bang earrings. Hope I am normal and not be the laughing stock. I heard some are so serious, they act like one, should see on Tuesday!

Yesterday I had my first class test, flunked! No time to study, worked till late and by the time i showered, I dozed off in seconds! Very disappointed, once I stepped in the hall, all is gone. I felt disappointed with myself. Time to learn to cope better.

Like what everyone said, real challenge, with my work industry and new term too. I also know.

Working hard! Double, more coming!

Today, attended a corporate grooming class.

The makeup artist is well-known for her skillful hands. Of course, some intro in their branding, followed by demonstration. Scary experience. Even for my wedding, I never experienced such thick make-up.

My eye shadow was done by artist and another by myself. Requesting for natural, I thought there would be lighter shades, in the end, very earth tones and adds on another 3-5 years to my age. Scary.. and my colleagues has nothing to comment except that I looked so different - mature I think.

Yeah, really prefered the natural self. In another week or so, instructor will go round inspecting. Haha, I think it's really for today that I will have that 'mask' look and thereafter, way below her standard.

So mama-drama for a day!

Just wash my face, so clean and poor pores, must be blocked by the thick foundation. I think some little pimples appearing soon! ;(

After much delay for weeks, I finally did the pap smear test for the first time.

Of course, it got to be done by a female doctor. Intially she looked so stern, so I was fearing that it will be painful. But when I stepped into the room, she was quite gentle and detailed.

She uses the equipment plus a small brush and scope some cervix. And thereafter, pressed hard against my womb with her hands, checking whether there is lump or pain.

Pap smear test accordingly to the doctor, done especially when a lady is sexually active or rather married. For first initally 3 years, once per year and thereafter, once every 3 years.

Some further explaination why married or unmarried ladies should go for it even if she is single:

Who should have a Pap Smear?
Any woman who is sexually active or is at least 18 years old should have a Pap smear. Cervical cancer is most commonly caused by HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). This is a virus that is most commonly spread by sexual contact. It is thought to be the most prevalent STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) in the United States with about 85% of the adult population having had it. Once you get the HPV in your genital tract, it is difficult if not impossible to get rid of it. HPV is also the causative agent of Genital Warts. Some people with HPV infection will develop warts, some will develop precancerous and if ignored cancerous changes, some will develop both, and even a few will develop neither. These changes may occur relatively soon after infection or may not occur for many years.

When should you have a Pap Smear?
All women, who are sexually active or
over 18 years of age, should have a Pap smear every year for at least 3 years. If all three of those are reported as "No Pathologic Change" (see area below for description of Pap Smear reports), then that woman can got to getting a Pap smear every 3-5 years. Even so that woman should still have a pelvic exam and routine normal health maintenance visits every year.

What is a Pap Smear?

A Pap smear is a screening test for pre-cancerous changes of the uterine cervix. The preceding sentence contains two key concepts that are frequently misunderstood by laypersons and in quite a few instances physicians. I will start by addressing those concepts.

A Pap smear is looking for pre-cancerous changes of the uterine cervix. It is not designed to find cancer and it is not designed to find abnormalities of any other organs. (E.g. the ovaries or lungs) The cervix develops cancer in a slow prolonged manner; usually 10-20 years from the first changes until cancer develops. At any place along the way, something may happen to reverse the process and make things normal again. These changes are called dysplasia or sometimes Cervical Intraepithelial Neoplasia or even Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (different names for the same process).

When a Pap smear is obtained, the cervix is scraped with a wooden stick and a tiny brush. The stick and brush are then moved across a glass slide causing the cells to become attached to the slide. The slide is then chemically treated and sent to a cytology laboratory where it is first stained with special dyes and then examined through the microscope by a cytotechnologist. If no abnormal cells are seen, it is reported as normal. A random sampling of these "normal" slides are reviewed by a pathologist. If abnormal cells are seen, the slide is then looked at by a pathologist. The pathologist then assigns a diagnosis to the smear. Under the "Bethesda" system (the system currently in use in the U.S.) for pap smear reporting, there are several possible diagnoses he can make. They are:

1. No Pathologic Change. (Normal)

2. Inflammation. (Signs consistent with an infection)

3. Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance (ASCUS)
Some squamous cells are present which aren't normal, but they may be due to inflammation [95-98%] or pre-malignant change[2-5%])

4. Atypical Glandular Cells of Undetermined Significance(AGCUS)
Some glandular cells are present which aren't normal but they may be due to
inflammation [80-85%] or pre-malignant change[1O-15%1)

5. Low Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (LGSIL) (Some squamous cells are present which may come from an early pre-malignant lesion)

6. High Grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion(HGSIL) (Some squamous cells are present which may come from an advanced pre-malignant lesion)

7. Malignant cells are present. (Malignant squamous or glandular cells are present which may come from a cancer)

All of these, with the exception of numbers 1 and 2, require some kind of further evaluation. The kind of evaluation depends on which one it is.

I was so hungry after the test cause the wait was terribly long. Hesitating btw chicken rice at Maxwell or fish soup at Amoy, I opted for fish soup. And it's closed as well as the wanton store! But still, good food around, the lor mee @ 2nd floor is good.

And I walked to Club Street.. Saw this shophouse with countrystyle deco cum baby stuff, check out www.wildchild.com.sg and when I showed Hub. His respond, "Wow, nice lor. But no need to say, your taste always very EX. one!"

Hee, yah, simplicity worth a lot, all import from UK and US. ;P

It's been the 3rd week in my new job.

Been busy coping with work and school which is not easy. Weekend is always occupied by school work, family, housework, friends and church.

Somehow some way, I finally feel that I can 'breath', not that work is lighter or finishing earlier. But maybe the adapting to changes.

I missed the good old times of having breakfast and also having a 'warmth' circle of bosses and colleagues. But that's the past.

Now, I am taking things in a challenging way. It's tiring but learning path too.

Today, for the first time in 3weeks, I felt I am not under the water but also learning to come up and breath. That's parcel of life I guess..

Been eating a lot over the weekend.

To me, no difference for this Hari Raya. My ex-colleagues are very fortunate. They earned them a company's holiday on last Fri and tmr, another holiday in replacement of the Sat P.H. Such long weekend~! Envious.

Yesterday, we went to AMK Drive-In cum Garden McDonald for breakfast. Flooded with kids and families. Never go there on Sat morning or weekend. Scary. We spent the morning that since there was a heavy downpour too..@ AMK Hub, outside, there is a starhub roadshow, selling LG non camera mobile for 59bucks + car charger! Ytd, Hubby said no, now regretting.

We went for BBQ at Marine South in the evening, people flooded everywhere. I think if there is a camera, should capture the very ugly side of S'poreans - how we snatch food, practically all snapped out. Only left with vegetables loh. But it's only later part that there are choices of food. Very filling meal - fattening with all the oil-spread BBQ stuff.

Today, woke up late but make it for SS. I realised on average I have 2-3 gals in my group, the rest are boys, but not full attendance most of the time. Sometimes, the handful comes and gang up - that's the headache part. So SS was smooth running and I thought I can do better during storytelling with more examples and research!

Later we went for Chinese dumplings making at my CG's tenant place. Very full after eating lotsa dumplings. Easily 20-25, how can they survive just eat that for meal most of the time.. Thankfully, living in S'pore means a lot of choices.

Feel so fat now, lotsa meat for the past 2 days.. quite some times that I have not jog, next week I think (always saying that..)

It's been a busy week and few days I have been down with eye infection.

My right eyelid is swelling slightly and this morning, Hubby as well. It's painful when I blinked. As for me, when I looked at my computer screen, blurred vision, thank God I managed to substain for the rest of the day with figures and reports.

So many things learnt and gained since the switch of the new job. The previous gal who was in my post (got promoted), is really very detailed, efficient and good memory. As comparison, she is even 'on the ball' than my ex-boss.

I felt so inferior to her. And she's younger, so much more energy and committed to work than me. I dont know whether I can supercede her, but she has been a great worker! I am very convinced by her work attitude and indepth knowledge!

Since I finished work late, most of the time, stuck at work and super late for lesson. Taking 1-way taxi is around 10 bucks or more, that's total to around 80-90 bucks per month just on transportation to school if it goes on, which I doubt I can be early cause I am just really picking up! Some times, if I know work is so important, I will delay the course. But too late! So, just continue to press and strive on!

Knowledge and learning is never ending. I wish I have more time!

Never look back at the good old days. Every day is new, and different!

Maybe some would notice, Hubby looks like a chimpmunk, especially when he has the short haircut and the way he smiles ;P Kinda cute cute one leh!

And our characters are somehow similar to the cartoon character - 'Chip n Dale'.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
According to Disney, Chip is the logical schemer, and Dale is the dumb schemer. An easy way to visually tell them apart is that Chip has a black nose and one centered protruding tooth, whereas Dale has a red nose and his two prominent canines exposed.

Of course, not talking about my looks turning into a chipmunk (By the way, Chip n Dale are 'boys'). We initially thought of placing a pair of them in front of our bridal car earlier but impossible, that's very gay leh!

In fact (Found from Wikipedia again!):
Two Chips and a Miss
Chip 'n' Dale struggled for the affections of another chipmunk, Clarice, a performer at the Acorn Club, in "Two Chips and a Miss" (1951). After much battling between the two, she chooses neither one. Mmm... Clarice is their 'girlfriend' or rather their target!

It's actually both our characters. Me as Chip - always commanding and talking about logic of life, things etc. Hub - Dale, the funny one, easy-going, thinks w/o hesitation or under the pointer of Chip... Most of the time, they have their agruments in many ways - joker. But they are a great team!! Especially against the enemy!!

Maybe most would not have noticed too. We have a pair of neck support cushions at the back of our car, needless to say - CHIP & DALE. We bought it from the recent Hongkong trip, have not seen the same design in S'pore. We both loved itso much! So, if we see another set, we will get it again for the front seats support!

Smile Smile.. Hee hee..

2 main things I did in this afternoon - view mobile phone and flat.

My mobile is giving way. Very close to 2 years. Well, nowadays, that's the technology. Short term. I guessed it will be good to buy a good set, recently, Hub's gave way and he lost all the unsaved SIM card contacts. No way to retrieve back unless he can fix it but it's a bit tough, that's an antique phone in some way.

I saw the Samsung ones. I loved Nokia and Samsung phones. User-friendly and great design. A few selection, one that is not so ultra slim but it's free with contract. Another is U600 and U700. Similiar designs just diff in colours and one is 3G. Tot 3G will be good but again, spending another 300plus just because I am going Korea? Got to consider, I just need this gadget for calls and sms. very simple.

Saw a flat near mummy's place. Actually 2nd time viewing, just that different agent, so tot is the same. The owner still expecting >50K (True MADNESS!) Well, it's a 1st owner meaning they got it 20 years ago @est. 100K, now asking for 300++.. turnover of 200K and cash, crazy. My neighbour above me sold their flat only at 20+K above valuation (One I aimed earlier but withdraw cause some personal belief). And that's 100% move-in.. This is original condition, that's what I told the agent. He himself smiled and also said that's owner's expectation is way too high> moreover, not near train station etc. Well, I told agent if no hurry, if owner is keen to sell can contact us (well, they are thinking of selling, then looking for new flat - take time). Ironic, sell high, others also selling higher..

Never mind, somehow, a bit shiok! Cause no urgency to buy flat, so now it's windowshopping feeling.

True, everyone expectation. Why rush in now unless urgency? Wait for a year or so, hotcake cools down and demand also drops. :)

YEH!

11:30 PM

Today is the start of 2nd module for my course.

Due to new job, this is the 2nd time I am super late for class. I hope that it will improve, at least for class, I can be punctual and probably stay at rest of the weekdays to clear work. And it is not easy like many said, new job, new course and 'new life' - refering to marriage life. Well, in the eyes of others, I am still 'newly-wed'.

Today, with my thick thick face, I requested to travel back early from Korea for my next business trip one day earlier to catch up with the dissertation workshop I have. So pai-seh, so new in the company and have to put up such special request. No choice as the marker cum universal lecturer will fly in from UK to S'pore for only (1) day. Thank God, my boss is so understanding (but of course, the face was a bit black, afterall, I am there to assist in all the backsupport).

This evening, Hub told me he will be flying to India much earlier than expected. Well, in the end, good timing. I will fly back from Korea over weekend and on following Monday, he will depart for India. A short gathering and I will be missing him all the away to 15 December, almost 1 month!

Super man!

Life is so different now.

A brand new start had kicked off.

It's very excited and challenging. Things are not like the past.

Well, in short, it is moving 3-4 times faster than previous. A snap and to get things done - fast, accurate and quick quick!!

Only 3rd day has passed. So much things to absorb. I feel like a sponge. Left unused for long and suddenly filled with water.. Many braincells killed over the days and now, need to grow more.

Plus class, work till late also late for class. Sigh. rush rush.

I really really have to put more effort in my new job and study.

Looks like a balance lifestyle is tough.

My new colleagues, said, "welcome to fight the war together", "we work for passionate and not money". Hahah.. great motivation, really scared the hell out of a newbie. What culture shock, more than my previous..

Trying, really trying.

More work, 1 more module coming up too.

JIA YOU, gal gal.. GO GO GO!!
