Maybe it is good that Hubby is away for attachment.

Been listing my priority daily at work and assignments. But of course, there is hiccups or lost focus at time.

Quick rush for endless projects. One after another.

Unable to collect the lights for new house common toilet. So installation has been delayed till next Mon. Need to pop by to take a look at the painting. Heard from designer the first coat of colours has been up.

Really a wise decision to opt for ID as they did quite a good job co-ordinating on behalf but not sure about quality as it is too early to comment.

Hubby is adjusting to lifestyle in SA. 6 hrs behind us. Air is quite dry. And it is totally opposite of Little India, everyone knows they are foreigners. Taking safe caution as they go out but stay in their 1-star hotel most of the time.

Kinda miss him, been Smsing him. Scare that if I am not strong, I talk I will cry..

31 days for his return back to S'pore!

Just sent Darling off to the airport.

He'll checking now. Be off in South Africa till May 29.

His luggage weighed 29.5kg.

Somehow, fears and tears hold before the entry gates. But still, farewell for the time being. It's his turn to learn more about life experience.

I need someone to hug me tonight... cant write more before my tears drop.

Good night.

Everyone thought of owning their own place since young. For me, I thought it will princessy to have one with all pink, white.. every guy's nightmare.

After getting married, I thought I want something english or countrystyle.

As I proceed to get my flat, I realised I dont have time to settle all home matters and engage my ID. Now, my home-to-be became modern. Hahah.. ironic.

Buy home staff is quite chiem. I ended with something I dont want. But learnt a lot.

Some tips:

1) Compared pricing. Places like gain city always have offers. But if you looked at estate electrical shops, it even cheaper. Example: near ikea Alexander, Goh Ah Bee etc. It's really cheaper by hundreds.

2) Do your homework, always ask about recommendation. If you get a good saleman at Denki, Courts, ask them to recommend the best brand at reasonable range. Estate sales at times represents brands.

3) Recommendation counts but looks at the actual products. Though saying is good but you may not be pleased with function, size or design.

4) Give flexibility and time (If it's possible)

I saw the adv. today. Teka is having sales.. :( Hubby and designer say I am too quality conscious. Or rather branded.. Hahah.. Quality life mah, it's my 1st home mah.

Well, in the end, we are more settled for main installation home items. Our listing:

1) Air-con: Daikin Multi (Not inventer, why? My MIL/FIL works in servicing aircon line, they know more, so for this I trust)
2) Hood: Brandt Chimney (Good at 1000m3/h)
3) Hod: Electrolux (Italy brand, made in Thailand) I heard a lot are made in China
4) Samsung fridge: 3 ticks and white to match our kitchen
5) Washing Machine: Panasonic
6) Cabinet all slow moving closure (Blum: too expensive)

We spend a bomb, thank God that we have a friend give us good discount for buying spart parts like racks etc.

Before Hub leave tmr, at least some peace that I may not get too involved in renovation.

Sigh, I am blogging from home, but not motivation to work on my assignment. :(

I have been thinking too much lately about life.

Though I am loaded with work, school, reno., family but often I give a thought.

This afternoon, I have to opportunity to chat with my female colleagues. A single and a married. I saw old self in the single - unhappiness with myself, uncontented, always comparing. In the married, I see the changes that had happened, conventing my life.

Everyone has their own life story, everyone learns.

Moon is always rounder on the other side of the world and we always looked at greener pastures.

But have we been thankful, grateful? Knows that we have happiness in our hands, yet we complained?

Just another contribution to thought of the day while walking home from train station.

Life goes on..

A sleepy day - just woke up, missed service this morning.

Lazing now with my coffee.. that tastes.. Eeee...

Uploading some picture of hacked wall:

(One sided of kitchen, thought it would be nice for both but somehow hub and designer insisted one. so odd)

(P.E. permits hacking more, till end of floor, a bit strange too. Now, i looked as if there is 2 doors to a room! Anyway, it will be up with glass soon, creating brightness to dinning area)

(The thing about concealed wiring, the hackers hit the wrong thing. Hopefully do not affect the wiring for the house when lights are up)

I hope that I can cope with renovation solely after Hub leaves for attachment, hopefully, he has a decent home when he returns.. Hahah..

Simply - SHIOK!!

To be able to sleep more than 8 hours is an achievement!

Today, we managed to hop by our new flat to peek at the progress of wall after it has been hacked. Somehow, looks like additional door space. More than original plan. Managed to pop by to our downstairs neighbour's place for a preview of other's ideas. Went to buy our sink, hood etc. Next will be water heater etc. which I totally have no idea once Hub leaves next weekend.

My assignment dates coming:

26 Apr
5 May
10 May
2papers in mid Mid

How I wish I dont have to work.

I miss watching tv programs like GUESS X3..

Tmr is another day for research and library.

Another 4months.. and over.. quick quick, I look forward..

12:15 AM

After months of preparation, today, my big project on the conference is finally over.

Nights burn for this conference at the office till wee morning, totally exhausted which never happened before is stepping into the house, lie on my bed in my office attire, waking up to realise my make-up, lenses are on.

4 days of international meeting - things that didnt went well may be covered on surface, which only I knows. Sigh, tired. I wondered who am I out there to impress.

Probably the last one in Seoul is on my training ground, this round is done up by myself and I felt the standards were not there. Hubby were described it as 'swan swimming gracefully in front of others, but no one knows how hard it paddle" - I agreed.

I know I have changed. My friends said so, my social life is almost Zero now. Even not thinking much on my flat which has been left empty for months since I collected the key earlier.

Finally, we are started the hacking tmr, which hubby leaves for attachment next week for a month and leaving me to decide.. which i... erm.. sigh.

I think my expectations were lowered. But we spend a bomb just buying basics:

$3.5k - Slummerland + bedframe that hub insisted that he must have that.

$2k - L shaped fabric sofa by AIR Division (hahah.. yup, the super, expensive high class brand that we got a good deal during the sales last week; normal price: $4.8K)

Plus $850 on just a simple grandi chair... (Yes, AIR too.. OMG, yes, simple chair and nothing special cost me so much but I loved it.. )

$3k - aircondition..

Just above, a few items were closed to 8-9k. All quite small and exquistive since the flat is quite small (everything we eyed is just so EX!!!. Everything is compact which now, I will never think of buying big electronic stuffs.

I think I better start checking $$ in the bank which i have not done for ages. Cheques issues one after one another, money is like running water.

Very good job - just bread and water for next few months.

I need tonnes of shopping vouchers for my house warming now...

Tiring. Been so busy with so many things and conference etc.

I felt like giving up at times. Again, when I see results, I felt good after work hard put in. But I felt at bottle-neck, guilty as I dont have much time even over weekend to spend time with my own mum or hubby etc.

I got my first term results - pass for the modules which is quite a miracle cause there are too much struggles and this term, with more modules and work conference, I am unsure.

Keep pushing.. As the email send my ex-colleague reminded me:

"I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine (Ef3:20)."

Though I struggle, I cried, thank you that I am still living.
